hog slapper
Made of heavy-duty canvas, sewn in several layers, and with a wood-enforced handle, this strap was made to drive pigs. As pigs have a sensitive skin, other whips than a slapper would cause bruising. Originally, the whole thing was painted (red or brown, only barely visible now), maybe to enforce the structure. After an obviously long time of frequent use most of it wore off.
