Hippo Hide Whip from Namibia

This Sjambok was made in Namibia, back when it was a German colony. A very rare feature is its complete documentation. Its first owner served at the German protection forces for Southwest Africa from 1905. 1907 he finished his service as military doctor in Lüderitzbucht (today: Lüderitz). During this time he obtained the sjambok, which was then handed down in the family. It is in a good state of preservation with some signs of use, no broken tip, 3 ft long.
