French dog whip
Slit-braided french dog whip, dated 1923, belonged to a French Captain. The slit braid starts with double layers, continuing single layered and ends with a long fall. There are three whippings to keep the unbraided upper part in shape and to add some weight. simple, but effective construction. This whip is equipped with a whistle (still working, protected by a leather loop). Overall condition is good, with some minor surface cracks in the leather and some chipping of the nickel plating.
