German martinet (RAD whip)
This is the well known German martinet or RAD (Reichsarbeitsdienst) whip, handed out to RAD members. Despite its look, this is originally not intended for punishment but for cleaning clothes. It´s in fact a dust beater! Of course these were sometimes also used on naughty children, but don't believe in horror stories about this whip being a torture device.
