Sjambok blacksnake
A modern interpretation of the sjambok, braided of finest kangaroo hide (4ft/12plt) instead of being carved from massive hippo. Alex Jacob from Cobrawhips (see links) developed it from a blacksnake whip. The dynamics are between that and a "classic" sjambok. Originally intended for consensual use, it is also a very nice collectible. Note the taper and the fine braid of the tip (with four "blood knots"). (01/28/2003)
